Do I have to have a title?

So I guess the latest big news to blog about is that we gave our dog away. I wasn't prepared for the 24/7 job a dog would be. I hated feeling guilty everytime we left because the dog was in his kennel, and feeling like we couldn't just pick and up and do what we wanted to anymore. I felt really bad for Jesse because he really wanted to keep him. I know he gave him up for me - what an amzing guy I married. How many men would give up their dog willingly for their wife. Jesse's parents took Datag. They have had him for the last month anyway, and have apparently fallen in love with him! They have two other dogs so Datag gets lots and lots of attention and also has two little playmates to bug. It wasn't that Datag was such a bad dog that we gave him away....he could actually be quite sweet. It's just that he was so BIG, and a PUPPY, and never stopped roaming and chewing on things!! When he was outside, he would just sit by the door and whine to be let in because he didn't want to be alone. There really was hardly ever a second of peace with that dog around. VERY VERY time consuming. Jesse tells me that if I get sick of having a baby around I'm not allowed to give it away! Haha. I said I'm sure his parents would take it if we asked nice enough....:) I'm glad we still get to see Datag every once and awhile and see what kind of older dog he will become. I know in 2 years he will be a great dog to have around, but I just couldn't handle 2 years of watching a dog like a hawk. :( *Sigh*. You live you learn I guess.

Well, I am getting a bit bored sitting around at home. It is time for a job. I have been putting my resume out there so hopefully it won't take too much longer. I've never been one who can just sit around. I need projects and a purpose in life. Speaking of purpose, I think I will go make some cookies. Always a good thing to do when you are feeling a bit blue. :)

A Quick Post

We don't have internet yet at our house, so I am the Grimshaw library using their rather slow computers. We had a succsessful move with lots of help from family which I am very thankful for. Jesse's parents drove up with one horse trailor, and my Uncle Rey and Auntie Eleanor drove up with the paint trailor and we managed to get everything moved. Only one cup and one flower pot got smashed, and so that's what I would call a sucess! When you move, something always gets wrecked, so those two things are very minor! All our boxes are unpacked and Jesse hung lots of things on the wall for me yesterday, so there isn't too much left to do. Some more things to be hung, and misallaneous things laying around, but it shouldn't be too much longer before everything finds it's place. Well, my computer is shutting down in 4 minutes, so I guess that is all I can write for now......:)

It's been awhile!

Hi Everyone,

I told Jesse to update my blog for me, but apparently he didn't! I am in Kola for the week and my parents don't have any internet, and I know it's been awhile. As far as the pregnancy goes, I am almost 13 weeks, and still feeling pretty nauseous, but not as tired, so I'm glad about that. I try to eat things that my body will accept and not reject in an hour, which makes it easier all around!! I am curious though - again, all you pregnant or past pregnant ladies out there can help me out. I get cramps right under my diaphram, that feel like the cramps you get in your side when you run too far. They really hurt!! If I stretch out or move positions they are relived, so I'm wondering if anyone else has felt those. I've read in my book that some pain can be attributed to your uterus growing, and so on, but I'm just curious to know it anyone else has had similer feelings. :) I'm hoping that after the 13 week mark, I will start to be able to go grocery shopping without looking for things to throw up in. I honestly thought I was going to puke the other day at Sobey's and I was looking for something, ANYTHING to grab, but I manged to control it. However, I did spy one of those preformed pie plate crust things, and I think I would have had to go for it in one of those. Then I was thinking though, how would that work. Would I take the pie plate full of my puke up to the till and pay for it? What if the bar code was undeneath the puke, then what? Would I just leave it there? I don't think my concience could have handled that. I mean, it's not a simple situation. Right now gocery stores don't go over very well with me.

Anyway, so I have been at home since Friday, and I love it. I ride along with my Dad on the tractor, help my Mom move trucks and farm equipment around (she drives the farm equipment, I drive the car!) and tonight we are making a fire and having pie irons and smores. You can't beat the country. I just love it. This afternoon I was sitting outside on a chair, and I heard rustling and shuffling in the bush beside me, but I figured it was just birds, but then a mouse suddenly ran out, and into the little pile of logs right beside me. ICK!! So then I went and called the dog, and my Mom moved the log a bit and then it was game over for the mouse. Poor mousey! It is also tick season in Manitoba, and for all you lucky people who don't know what ticks are, they are little disgusting bugs that stick their heads into you and suck your blood until they are so big they can't hold on any more, and then they drop off. By that time they are so huge they are white, and as big as a walnut. (They start off very little and black) The dog gets the big ones all the time. So anyway, they totally creep me out even though I've grown up with them, and of course I got one when I was outside by myself with nobody to pick it off. So I started hopping around and making screeching sounds, and found a stick. I started poking at it, trying to poke it off my leg, but of course their legs are so sticky it wouldn't poke off, and I was making louder screeching sounds, until finally I guess I got far enough under it and flicked it off. SICK!!!! The only bad thing about living in the prairies. The ticks. Thankfully they are usually just around in the spring time.

Well, I will write again when we are settled which may not be for a bit so don't hold your breath! I am driving back to Red Deer Thursday, loading up with Jesse's parents Friday, driving to Peace River Friday also, and then comes the big task of unpacking and setting up. Let you know how that all goes with a spastic dog, and a ferral cat. :)

Another Post

Well, I've been told to post more often by my husband so he has something to read so here goes. I woke up this morning feeling very sluggish. Lately, that has been my baromater of how the day is going to go. Before I was pregnant, every morning was a struggle, but since being pregnant, some mornings I wake up at 7:30 wide awake and ready to go. (That NEVER has happened to me before!!) But, the other mornings I wake up and feel like death and then I know I'm in for it. So I wake up, feeling like crap.....didn't help that I had to pee about a hundred times during the night. I drove 4 houses down, (literally) to get to work......walked up the stairs with my tray of paint, and then raced for the bathroom and threw up. Well, first I managed to close the door and turn the fan on, so the other trades working in the house hopefully couldn't hear. Seriously, who wants people to hear them puke? Kind of humiliating. And I always cry when I puke. I can't help it. The tears just squeeze out, so I'm sure I looked about the same as a drowned rat coming out of that bathroom. I thought it might help to eat my banana I had along, but it didnt really, and then the rest of the day just followed in that vain. I was so tired every movement was an effort. Very annoying. I haven't thrown up again, but I have felt like it! I have to say though, I would rather throw up an empty stomach, than one that is filled with either pizza or pepperoni sticks. Definitely the best throwing up experience thus far in the pregnancy, and I will keep you updated for sure. I should start a scale of how awful the puking was. This one was about a 4 (10 being worst) the pizza was 9.5, and the pepperoni was 10. :)

Aunty Eleanor and I went to a bunch of garage sales on the weekend, and since I don't know what I am having yet, we bought 2 pairs of little girls shoes, and 1 boys shoes! I figure with having 3 or 4 kids, the odds are we will have at least one of each, so it was pretty safe! They are so cute too!!!! Three pairs of shoes, and a really nice insulated sleeper for 5 bucks!!! Yeah, so I figure why buy anything full price when there are garage sales and Value Village where all these clothes have probably been worn three times! Some people have some prejudice against second hand things, which I don't at all, and to those people I say...go live in Haiti for a few months, where people have NOTHING, and suddenly second hand stuff would look mighty good! We don't intend to raise our kids with the idea that money is very important, because it just isn't. You need it to live, and there is a lot to be said for being responsible citizens and making a living, and working hard, but at the end of the day, there are a LOT of things more important than what you are worth. I pray often that God would give us enough that we wouldn't have to worry about money, because I know how stressfull that is, and I also pray that he won't give us too much, because then that's a whole new bag of worms. I should clarify though.....I don't think it is wrong to have money, or for Christians to have money....in fact I think God blesses people with wealth, BUT...the more money you have, the bigger responsibility you have to spend it wisely and I think the more you have, the harder it is to raise kids. That is just my opinion!

Personally, I would be extremly sad if my kids grew up being selfish and thinking that things brought them happiness. When I think of my childhood, very few of the memories I have of my family and family life have to do with money. I remember my Mom reading The Lord of the Rings out loud to the whole family, (my Dad included) in the evenings, sleeping all together under the Christmas tree, playing with my Dad on winter nights outside, playing Search outside in the summer, and hide and seek in the dark downstairs! By the way, I still have the all time reigning best spot in our house for that, and mabye one day I'll hide my kid there, and see if it works again!! Anyway, now I'm ranting, but I feel so strongly about this. I want our kids to have those memories, of their parents playing with them, and having time for them. If that means less money because we don't both work all week then that is just fine with me! Of course, these are just my opinions, and every family has to work out what works best for them, so I'm not judging anybody else! And I'm so glad that we get to raise our kids the way WE want to, and everybody can have a million opinions, but they really don't matter, because we are going to do it how we think is best! SO THERE!! Haha.

Anyway, that post turned into something I wasn't expecting. :)
Time for a shower.....

10 weeks and a heartbeat!

I had my monthly doctors appointment on May 1st, and I was exactly ten weeks pregnant. I didn't even know he was going to do this, but he had a little portable ultrasound machine that he had hooked up to a speaker so I got to hear my babies heartbeat for the first time!!! It was so cool. One of the most amazing sounds I have ever heard. I always wonder how people can't believe in God when they travel through the Rocky Mountains, and now I wonder how people can't belive in God when they experience the miracle of having a new life.

Jesse unfortunetly couldn't be there, so I called him right after and told him I had just heard our babies heartbeat.....:) He was sorry he missed it, but I hope the next ultrasound he will be able to come along. It's so amazing and yet so mindbending all at the same time, to think I have two hearts beating inside me right now. One very little one! Crazy! I had actually lost weight from my appointment last month, so the doctor gave me a perscription for some pills that will hopefully help with the nausea.

Oh, and our house is now unconditionally sold, so that is very good news! Well, time for some supper although I don't feel much like eating, but I will anyway! Then I have a movie rented...The perfect murder. I've seen it once already, but I think I remember it as being interesting, so I will watch it again! Yeah, it's the weekend!
